about

Keith Steunebrink, co-owner:
A native of New Zealand, Keith has lived in Nashville for the past 15 years. He has spent significant time abroad and has long been inspired by the cafes of Auckland and Europe. For the past 10 years he has pursued the dream of providing what he experienced there with his own customers. He notably conceptualized and executed the development of the Empyrean coffee bar at RCKTWN and has managed several Nashville coffee shops since, most recently as the General Manager of all three Portland Brew Coffee locations. Not to be kept from his true passions, Keith has always kept an active role as Barista in his jobs and craves the challenge of slinging coffee during the morning rush.

Heath Henley, co-owner:
Though Heath was born and raised right here in Nashville, he spent a significant amount of time as a child traveling the world with his family. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts – NY in 2002, he returned to Nashville live the life of a starving artist. He was soon given a job at a coffee bar by some guy named Keith, and over the past 7 years has worked in nearly every aspect of the Specialty Coffee industry: from barista, to Roastmaster for Portland Brew Coffee, to working in the fields of El Salvador for a nationally distributed coffee company.
Heath Henley is a United States Barista Championship Certified Judge, serving at the 2008 and 2009 Championships. He has also been an instructor for Espresso and Cupping workshops at the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s annual conference. His work has been featured in Barista Magazine and the SCAA’s bi-monthly “Chronicle” newsletter and he most recently founded the community-driven Nashville Coffee Society, which has held regular coffee tastings and latte art competitions at area coffee shops.

Dose Coffee & Tea is the result of over 5 years worth of late night conversation, pondering, and discussion between Heath and Keith. It is a concept that merges their passions for coffee, culinary arts, and design. Much like coffee, Dose plays the line between the local with the global, and seeks to provide attentively sourced products in an equally thought out environment.
